Can I have my wedding at The Isom Place?

Yes! We would be honored to have you as an Isom bride. The property can accommodate both your ceremony and reception. If you prefer to have your ceremony in a church there are seven churches in the vicinity allowing close proximity to the Isom Place. This makes the Isom Place an ideal location for your wedding reception or a rehearsal dinner. The venue is just steps away from the Square, shopping, dining, art galleries, and more.

What types of events do you host at The Isom Place?

Any event that you need a space for, including corporate meetings, banquets, non-profit luncheons or fundraisers, book signings, Ole Miss Greek events; the possibilities are endless! 

What is the venue rental fee?

View packages here. For all other events, pricing varies based on the date, length of the event, and the number of guests in attendance.

What does the rental fee include?

The entire inside of the Venue; 2 parlors, large conference room/dining room, use of kitchen for catering, 6 bathrooms, the beautiful courtyard backyard for a ceremony or dinner, side yards, back patio and dance

floor brick area, etc. The allotted time varies by event type. Typically, weddings are allotted 12 hour rental and all other events (that are not by the hour) are an 8 hour rental. We partnered with Details Specialty Rentals to accommodate your needs. Included with the venue, are 6 48" tables, 4 pub tables, 2 6 ft. buffet tables, 2 8 ft. buffet tables, and 50 white chairs. Do you have any vendor requirements?

No. We are an open venue and believe in supporting the local business in Oxford! You are welcome to hire the vendors you feel are the best fit for your event, if they are licensed and insured. We can provide you with recommendations of our preferred vendors that we work with on a regular basis and have vetted thoroughly; caterers, photographers/videographers, band/DJs, floral, etc.

How do I reserve the venue for my special date?

Your date is considered "reserved" when you have signed a contract and made a down payment of 50% of the total. The down payment can be made by cash, check, and/or credit card online. We can send you a proposal and contract when you are ready to save the date!

How many guests can the Isom Place accommodate?

You may have up to 80 guests inside and 200 outside.

 

Can I have alcohol?

Yes! A licensed and insured bartender employed by your caterer or bar service must handle the alcohol at your event. No outside alcohol is allowed on the property. All alcohol must stop being served by 9pm on Sunday.

 

Is there parking/valet?

The Oxford Parking Garage is conveniently located across the street. All guests can park there at no cost. We ask that the parking spaces on the property be reserved for your handicapped guest. Valet is available upon request for an additional fee.

Do I need an additional permit?

For parties with more than 40 guests and alcohol is being served, you will need to file a city permit at Oxford City Courthouse. We can file it for you as a courtesy. The cost is $75 and has to be filed 2 weeks prior to your event.

 

How many people can the venue hold? 

Max capacity is 99 guests inside and 200 guests outside. 

What staff will be on site the day of my event?

The manager or assistant to the manager will be available throughout the duration of your event. *Please note, The Isom Place staff does not take the role of your event coordinator. You must have, at the very least, a day-of coordinator to help with any of the wedding details. The Isom Place staff will help with any additional tasks as needed, should time allow. Our main priority is having the venue ready for your event.

Are there any restrictions regarding decorations?

Nothing can be nailed/screwed, taped to the walls, doors or any other fixture in the venue. All candles must be enclosed (in a glass container). Outside the property, no artificial flowers are allowed. Throughout the entire property sparklers are allowed but, glitter and confetti are NOT permitted. If you have questions, ask management.

Are there any noise ordinances?

Yes. The Isom Place is located in a unique location of historic Oxford, therefore the residential noise ordinance must be followed. All music must end by 10:45 p.m. This ordinance also places limitations on the amps allowed for your musicians/band. Acoustic music or 3-4 person bands are highly encouraged. Noise needs to be kept to a 25ft radius around the property.

When is my final balance due?

Your final balance is due 30 days prior to your event. We will have a planning meeting and final walk through 30 days out. At this time all your paperwork, final payment, and anything else you need to go over is due.
